My Studio Downstairs program is designed to nurture creative thinkers. The art sessions extend beyond the boundaries of making art. I offer an environment that supports creative curiosity and self-expression. Children explore ideas and use problem solving skills emphasizing the process of making art.
Studio Downstairs offers small classes where students explore many facets of art, including the fundamental elements: color, line, and shape. We experiment with traditional mediums: color pencil, paint, and multi-media. My classes integrate art historical figures and movements: Mondrian, Picasso, abstract, realism, etc.
I am inspired by the creative process and encouraging students to invent their own visual language…each child creating, developing, and communicating in a personal approach.
Policies: I do not offer refunds. Students may miss up to 3 classes and providing a make up may be arranged on an individual basis. I do my best to accommodate schedules
I have had the privilege of growing up surrounded by art and artists. I’m a third generation artist, which has allowed me to have ongoing exposure to all facets of the art world. Museum and gallery trips, studio visits, and art school have all been a part of the journey, bringing me to where I am today. I was formally trained at The George Washington University in Fine Art & Art History. From painting and drawing to bookbinding and knitting, I create art in all mediums.
